Successive statements in CHP Tekirdağ following dismissal: Reaction from Yüceer and Boduç

Following the dismissal of CHP Tekirdağ Provincial Chair Cenk Boduç, consecutive statements were issued by Tekirdağ Metropolitan Mayor Candan Yüceer and Boduç. Stating that the decision was not directed at just one person, Yüceer emphasized the party organization's will expressed at the ballot box.

In her statement, Yüceer said, "The will of the organization cannot be taken over by dismissing the elected will." Evaluating the decision as an interference with the members' preference and the party's democratic culture, Yüceer stated that the power of the CHP comes "not from appointments, but from its members, its organization, and the ballot box."

Stating that the Tekirdağ organization is "standing tall," Yüceer expressed that they would continue to stand by the elected will. Yüceer remarked, "Positions are temporary, the will of the organization is permanent."

Dismissed chair Cenk Boduç, in his written statement, described the decision as an "anti-democratic operation." Boduç argued that they came to office not through appointment but through the votes of the members, and that the decision was made "behind closed doors."

In his statement, Boduç called on the organization and the people of Tekirdağ, inviting them to gather in front of the provincial headquarters building. "I invite our entire organization and the valuable people of Tekirdağ to stand as one in front of the Tekirdağ Provincial Headquarters building to protect our labor, our ballot box, and our future," said Boduç, adding, "Our struggle is just beginning."
