Making a statement following the New Welfare Party (YRP) Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting, YRP Deputy Chairman Suat Kılıç evaluated the current agenda. Kılıç offered clear support for MHP leader Bahçeli's call that "elected representatives from the DEM Party should hold meetings with İmralı."
'AK PARTY SHOULD ALSO PROVIDE THE NECESSARY SUPPORT'
Evaluating Bahçeli's call for the 'DEM Party and Kandil to hold talks' made during his group meeting, Kılıç noted the following:
“The DEM Party delegation visited us last week. We saw that they do not possess any specific information regarding this process. Mr. Bahçeli's call is important in terms of conducting the process with certainty. If a step is to be taken, the AK Party should also support these talks. We believe that Turkey needs to stop beating around the bush and reach concrete results.”
'THE ELIMINATION OF TERROR IS IN ALL OF OUR INTERESTS'
Stating that potential talks with İmralı are critical for ending terrorism, Suat Kılıç said, “It will emerge whether İmralı has any influence or authority in this process or not. It is in all of our interests to prevent Turkey from being governed by fears of division.”
REJECTION OF BAHÇELİ'S PREVIOUS CALL
Recalling that they had firmly rejected Bahçeli's past call that “The terrorist leader should be brought to the TBMM,” Kılıç said, “That proposal did not find a response at the time. However, we believe that the call for DEM Party members to make contact with İmralı will be accepted in the corridors of the AK Party.”
MINIMUM WAGE STATEMENT
Regarding the minimum wage to be announced in the new year, Kılıç touched upon the 2025 budget negotiations and emphasized that the minimum wage should be 35 thousand liras. Kılıç stated, “35 thousand liras is a minimum figure for a family of four to be able to sustain their lives. The government should lighten the tax burden on the employer and realize this target.”
Suat Kılıç also addressed the crisis regarding municipal daycare centers. Kılıç said, “Municipalities should be allowed to open daycare centers. However, if education contrary to national and moral values is being provided in these centers, the state should exercise its right to intervene. Other than that, closing daycare centers entirely is neither logical nor in accordance with the law.”
