Support from Erbakan to Bahçeli: 'We would support a Palestine motion'

New Welfare Party Chairman Fatih Erbakan made statements regarding the current agenda in Kayseri, where he arrived as part of the 'Anatolian Meetings'.

Erbakan stated that the goal of Israel, which is committing a massacre in Gaza, is not limited to Palestine alone, but will eventually turn toward the entire Middle East and subsequently Turkey.

"THE KÜRECİK RADAR BASE MUST BE CLOSED IMMEDIATELY"

Erbakan said, "Muslim countries must see that they cannot get anywhere just by talking and condemning. Condemning, cursing, and calling for a ceasefire have unfortunately been of no use for 75 years. They are raining bombs without distinguishing between women, children, the elderly, and the disabled, or between mosques, churches, hospitals, and schools, and they are committing a massacre before the eyes of the world. Muslim countries must at least impose restrictions on the sale of natural gas and oil. They must impose restrictions on the sale of other strategic materials to America and Western countries that support this oppression. Under Turkey's leadership, it is essential to boycott American and Israeli goods, as well as the goods of European countries that support this oppression by personally visiting Israel. Contracts held by American and Israeli firms in Muslim countries must be cancelled. We must at least close the Incirlik Base in Adana, which belongs to America, a country that openly supports this oppression and applauds this massacre. The Kürecik Radar Base in Malatya, which was established to protect Israel against Iranian missiles, must be closed immediately. Muslim countries must see that they cannot get anywhere just by talking and just by condemning."

"WE WANT TO ENTER THE ELECTIONS WITH OUR OWN CANDIDATES"

Responding to a question, Erbakan stated that they would enter the local elections with their own lists because there is no 'survival issue' at stake, saying, "There is no survival issue in the local elections. In the May 14 and May 28 elections, we formed an alliance because we thought it was an extremely sensitive election, considering the future of our country, our nation, and our state, and because we believed the state should be managed with these extraordinary powers in the new system. But such a critical situation is not the case in municipal elections. Therefore, we want to enter the elections with our own candidates. We are carrying out our work in this direction all across Turkey."

"IF A PALESTINE MOTION COMES, WE WILL SUPPORT IT"

Speaking about MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's statement on Gaza on social media, Erbakan said, "During the 54th Government, when our teacher Erbakan was Prime Minister, the Turkish Armed Forces were sent to the Palestinian city of Hebron as a 'peacekeeping force' with a motion passed by Parliament, and not a single Palestinian was harmed. This issue can come to the agenda in Parliament again, and such a step can be taken. Due to our historical mission, the eyes of the Palestinian people are on Turkey. They have expectations from us to take more effective, practical steps to protect them. If this issue comes to Parliament, we will support it."
