While debates continue over the government's failure to declare a 'national mourning' period following the loss of 12 martyrs in an attack by the separatist terrorist organization, a mourning period has been declared in Bolu.

ENTERTAINMENT CANCELED

The announcement was made by Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan. Announcing that a 7-day mourning period has been declared, Özcan also stated that New Year's Eve celebrations have been canceled.

"I AM DECLARING A 7-DAY MOURNING PERIOD"

Sharing the news on his X account, Özcan used the following expressions:

“In order to share the pain of our martyrs' families, as the Mayor of Bolu, I am declaring a 7-day 'MOURNING' period within the municipal boundaries of Bolu. In this context, we have canceled the Emircan İğrek concert we had planned for New Year's Eve. In line with the mourning decision we have taken, all entertainment activities, including live music, are prohibited within our municipality's jurisdiction. May God have mercy on our martyrs and may He not let our Great Nation experience such pain again. Necessary legal and penal sanctions will be applied by our administration without hesitation against those who do not comply with the mourning decision.”
