The detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and Union of Municipalities of Türkiye (TBB) President Ekrem İmamoğlu is one of the hottest agenda items in Türkiye. While a detention order was issued for İmamoğlu on charges of establishing a criminal organization and other offenses, the İmamoğlu İnşaat company, in which he is a partner, was also seized. The live broadcast where this issue was discussed also surprised viewers.
The tension between journalist Nagehan Alçı and Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan was reflected on screen. Özcan used the expressions "You are unprincipled, you have no stance" toward Alçı. Alçı, criticizing Özcan's tone, replied, "You are using an ugly tone."
"GOOD EVENING TO EVERYONE EXCEPT NAGEHAN"
However, the tension peaked when Özcan accused Alçı of being a FETÖ supporter. Özcan harshly criticized Alçı, saying, "Yesterday you were with the FETÖ members, today it is unclear where you stand."
As the argument escalated, Özcan had to leave the broadcast. He stood up, saying, "I consider it a torment to be on the same broadcast as Ms. Nagehan. I don't even want to breathe the same air as this woman. If you had said 'Nagehan Alçı is on the broadcast,' I would not have connected. Good evening to everyone, except Nagehan Alçı."
