Tensions flared in Parliament following remarks by CHP Ankara MP Umut Akdoğan, who addressed the AKP by saying, "You are the ones who brought the murderers of Gaffar Okkan and the 'pig-tie' killers under this sacred roof."

A debate broke out between Republican People's Party (CHP) and HÜDA PAR deputies while a group proposal submitted by the CHP was being discussed in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).

CHP Ankara MP Umut Akdoğan also touched upon unsolved murders, stating, "Let us save Turkey from this shame. One of the greatest duties of the TBMM is to shed light on unsolved murders. Turkey cannot live with these shames, it cannot develop. As long as we cannot uncover the forces behind the unsolved murders, we cannot bring our country to enlightenment."

"YOU ARE THE ONES WHO BROUGHT THE MURDERERS OF GAFFAR OKKAN UNDER THIS ROOF"

Following Akdoğan's criticism directed at the AKP, "You are the ones who brought the murderers of Gaffar Okkan and the 'pig-tie' killers under this sacred roof," HÜDA PAR Gaziantep MP Şahzade Demir took the floor from his seat.

Demir said, "The CHP is setting aside all of Turkey's problems and conducting its politics by targeting HÜDA PAR. HÜDA PAR is a party founded in 2012. You are attributing events that occurred long ago to HÜDA PAR. In that case, we will hold you responsible for the murders and massacres committed during the CHP's single-party era, and we will call you 'murderers and criminals'."

Responding to Demir, CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır noted that the terrorist organization Hezbollah committed the murder of Gaffar Okkan and that there is no debate regarding this fact.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN THIS PARLIAMENT?"

Recalling the statement by HÜDA PAR Chairman Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu that they do not view Hezbollah as a terrorist organization, Başarır said, "Your Chairman said, 'We can discuss autonomy in Turkey.' My anger is that the AKP brought you into Parliament. What are you doing in this Parliament? I am uncomfortable; you cannot discuss autonomy in this country. You are the last party and the last deputies who can criticize our party since the Republic."

AKP İzmir MP Mahmut Atilla Kaya reminded that the SHP was in power during the period when unsolved murders were prevalent.

In the votes held after the discussions, the group proposals regarding the agenda submitted by the CHP, DEM Party, IYI Party, and Saadet Party were not accepted.
