In the latest Municipal Council session held at Çankaya Municipality, the ongoing tension within the CHP regarding 'butlan' management spilled over into the council chamber. Mayor Hüseyin Can Güner's statement, "If anyone meets with these individuals, they should not greet me," drew a reaction from Council Member Sinan Uslu and his colleagues, who support Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu within the party.
HARSH WORDS AND WATER BOTTLE TENSION IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBER
According to information obtained, Mayor Güner drew attention to the internal party polarization during the session by saying, "If there is anyone who does not walk the path with me, let them vent their frustrations here today." When Sinan Uslu strongly opposed these remarks, the verbal argument between the parties escalated quickly.
As described, the atmosphere became tense when Mayor Güner threw a water bottle he was holding at Uslu, and in retaliation, water bottles were thrown through the air.
SECURITY PERSONNEL HAD TO INTERVENE
According to allegations, the argument grew after the water bottles were thrown, leading to a heated exchange. Security personnel on duty at the Municipal Council intervened to calm the situation. The parties were then separated, and the meeting was adjourned.
It is noted that the debates within the CHP regarding 'butlan' management are also being felt in the party's local administrations, and similar crises may occur in the coming period.
