Tevfik Göksu invites Ekrem İmamoğlu to a live debate

Esenler Mayor Mehmet Tevfik Göksu has invited Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu to a live television debate.

Göksu shared the invitation on his social media account under the heading, "Whoever trusts the truth of their word, come."

"I INVITE YOU TO A DEBATE TO DISCUSS THE FACTS"

Göksu's statement is as follows:

“For 5 years, in the IMM assembly and other platforms, we have been performing our “duty” of opposition on behalf of Istanbulites, based on the “oversight authority granted to us by the people of Istanbul.”

To this day, I have not shared a single piece of information with the public that was not based on facts and documents. Furthermore, I have stated all my criticisms and allegations to the IMM Mayor's face multiple times from the assembly podium.

Instead of responding to my evidence-based criticisms with documents, either in the assembly or on television, the IMM Mayor has accused me personally of “lying.”

While doing so, he tried to be ironic by mentioning “sweating.” The people of Istanbul already know who is lying, who is “sweating,” and who is “sweating” for what reason.

Now, I am making a call here in the presence of all Istanbulites!

I invite the CHP IMM Mayor to a debate “TO DISCUSS THE FACTS,” on a day and time of his choosing, on a television channel of his choosing, and with journalists of his choosing.”
