İYİ Party leader Akşener had closed the doors to the alliance following the May 14-28 elections. Most recently, it was claimed that CHP Chair Özgür Özel and Akşener would come together.

Sözcü Media Group Ankara Representative Saygı Öztürk stated the following:
"CHP Chair Özgür Özel will visit İYİ Party leader Meral Akşener. This visit will likely take place on Wednesday. Issues regarding the upcoming local elections will be addressed in this meeting. The subject of an alliance between the two parties and the stance of the İYİ Party will be discussed at the bilateral summit. I have also received information that she may go to the CHP Headquarters later for a 'congratulatory' visit following the aforementioned meeting."
