The Republican People's Party (CHP) announced six more metropolitan mayoral candidates following its Party Assembly (PM) meeting held yesterday.
During the PM meeting, it was decided to continue with the incumbent mayors in Adana, Mersin, Aydın, and Hatay. In Eskişehir, one of the most anticipated cities, an era has officially come to an end.
In line with the recommendation of Yılmaz Büyükerşen, who has served as the Mayor of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality for 25 years, the municipal secretary-general Ayşe Ünlüce was nominated as the candidate for Eskişehir.
BÜYÜKERŞEN: IT WAS THE BEST FOR ESKİŞEHİR
According to the report in Gazete Duvar, Büyükerşen, speaking for the first time regarding Ünlüce's candidacy, stated that this was the most correct decision, saying, "Ünlüce was a name supported by all three of our district mayors; it was the best for Eskişehir."
Büyükerşen had won every election he entered since 1999, three as a member of the DSP and two as a member of the CHP.
