CHP Chairman Özgür Özel explained how artificial intelligence technology was used during the candidate selection process, which began on December 14 and has been largely completed.

According to a report by Mustafa Bildircin from Birgün, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel described the events that took place during the candidate selection work in the CHP, which began on December 14 and was largely completed by February 12.

Stating that 25 times more surveys were conducted compared to the 2019 local election period, Özel said, "We established a unit within ourselves consisting of a professional staff of five. We analyzed how what we were curious about was reflected in the surveys and how the survey responses should be interpreted." Expressing that they worked with a total of 16 polling firms, Özel noted that they focused on eight of the companies they worked with that utilize artificial intelligence technology.

CHP Leader Özel, saying "Artificial intelligence has candidates," explained how artificial intelligence technology was used in the candidate selection process with the following words:

"THEY CAN COME OUT FIRST IN THE SURVEY"

"For example, in the 500th survey, because a name not asked in the survey is mentioned very frequently, the artificial intelligence interrupts the survey and asks, 'Would you like to ask about this name in the survey?'... And this person we added to the survey can come out in first place. The companies conduct the application by phone via a link we send. We listen to and back up the conversation digitally. There is artificial intelligence oversight here. Because it is digital listening, 100 people call a province at the same time. They are unaware of each other, but if a name is mentioned very intensely even though they are not even a candidate in the survey, the artificial intelligence catches this. It proposes whether or not to put this name in the survey. When we put it in, they call back the people they called before that to ask about the added name as well."

SLOGANS ARE ALSO FOUND WITH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Özel stated that they added a name that the artificial intelligence caught, even though it was not in the survey, and that person came out in first place in the survey. Stating that artificial intelligence is used not only in candidate surveys but also for campaigns, Özel continued his words as follows: "There are qualitative interviews. Questions like 'What are the problems of Manisa Şehzade? Who do you think will solve this problem?' are asked. We also find the candidate's slogan from the answers given to these questions. In a place identified with corruption, where the most complaints are about corruption, a 'Honest candidate' slogan can be used. Or, where there are environmental problems, the candidate's poster becomes green. We have studies in this direction as well."
