The first political party of 2024 has been established: 'We are coming with a roar'

The first political party established in 2024 is the Pensioners' Party (EP). EP Chairman Cengiz Erten announced the party's principles as "republicanism, nationalism, populism, secularism, statism, reformism, and citizenship."

The Pensioners' Party (EP) has been recorded as the first political party established in 2024.

According to the report in Gazete Duvar, the party was officially established on January 8, according to the records of the Court of Cassation Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

 

'OUR MAIN GOAL IS FOR PENSIONERS TO LEAD A HUMANE LIFE'

EP Chairman Cengiz Erten announced the party's principles in a post on his X (Twitter) account as "republicanism, nationalism, populism, secularism, statism, reformism, and citizenship."

In the party program shared by Erten on Facebook, it was stated: "Our main subject is pensioners and the correction of the pension law to improve living conditions. Our primary goal is for pensioners to lead the quality and humane life they deserve. When the country's losses turn into gains, the entire society, especially pensioners, will reach a level of prosperity. We; when we protect the rights of our pensioners, we will also have protected the rights of all our working laborers. Because every worker is a candidate for retirement."

 

'MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT'S PENSION WILL BE THE MINIMUM WAGE'

The party program included promises that education and health rights would be free, domestic production would be carried out for economic development, necessary incentives would be provided in agriculture, Village Institutes would be reopened, the sale of land and property to foreigners would be stopped, parliamentary salaries would be reduced to a maximum of 3 times the minimum wage, and the pension of deputies would be the minimum wage.

In a photo shared on the Pensioners' Party's X account with the note “The Pensioners' Party has set out to be the party of the future with its vision and mission. No force or no person will ever be able to turn us back from this sacred path we have embarked upon,” the phrase “To those who have already started criticizing us, we are coming with a roar” was included.

 

THE SECOND PENSIONERS' PARTY IN TWO MONTHS

The first party to include the name of pensioners was the Turkey Pensioners' Party (TEP). The party, chaired by Metin İmer, was established on November 14, 2023.

With the establishment of the EP, 2 pensioners' parties have been founded in the last 2 months.
