The İmralı rift in the People's Alliance grows: Öcalan feud between MHP and BBP

The decision by a commission established in Parliament as part of the second reconciliation process, dubbed a "Terror-Free Turkey," to visit İmralı and meet with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan has sparked controversy within the People's Alliance.
BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici stated in a press conference on Friday that he is opposed to meeting with Öcalan. Destici said, "Meeting with İmralı is essentially a proposal to go to Öcalan's feet. It is unacceptable for a terrorist leader who has caused great harm to our country to be legitimized in this way."
The MHP did not delay in responding to these statements from Destici.
İsmail Özdemir, MHP Deputy Chairman responsible for Media and Communication, issued the following statement:
"The People's Alliance was established with the high will and sensitivity of the Turkish Nation to protect Turkey's national unity and integrity in the face of aggressive attacks.
While eliminating the threats and dangers directed at our country, we are determined to realize our ideal of 'I'lây-ı Kelimetullah' (Exalting the Word of God) and to build the Century of Turkey. On this blessed path, the high effort displayed by the People's Alliance in all official endeavors that constitute 'state policy' in our goal of a Terror-Free Turkey and a Terror-Free Region is the most important pillar of the strategy to carry Turkey toward its goal of becoming a global power.
Given this, what was your purpose while showing up at official openings and protocol ceremonies, 'offering your respects,' and wandering from ministry to ministry with various demands and justifications? What has changed now? What does the People's Alliance mean to you? What are you seeking to gain without taking on any responsibility or burden for Turkey and our national goals? Who is directing you? How are they using you in a game against the People's Alliance, which is determined to protect our national unitary structure today, alongside factions that held 'secret meetings' in the past with instructions received from abroad to change the first four articles of the Constitution? Are you aware of who you are being brought alongside? Why did the complete end of terrorism and the dissolution of the terrorist organization bother you?
'NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS...'
We know well who everyone is, where they stand, their sincerity, their belonging, and their sentiments.
No matter what anyone says or does, Turkey will surely reach its goal of becoming a global superpower by consolidating its national unity and solidarity and putting an end to terrorism.
As for those who lack the will and power to take responsibility in the face of what is happening, history will certainly write how they will be remembered by our nation in this blessed future."
