The knot in the nullity case: Şamil Tayyar points to 'July'!

The court's decision to postpone the hearing in the case filed for the cancellation of the CHP's Istanbul Provincial Congress to July 10, 2026, has brought new debates to the political scene.

The court also decided that the trustee committee led by Gürsel Tekin would continue its duties.

Following the decision, former AK Party deputy Şamil Tayyar made notable assessments in a statement on his social media account.

TAYYAR'S "PIECES OF THE PUZZLE" MESSAGE

In his post, Şamil Tayyar recalled that the CHP's Istanbul Provincial Congress case was postponed to July 10, and also drew attention to the case regarding the CHP's 38th Ordinary Grand Convention being heard in Ankara.

Tayyar used the following expressions in his statement:

"The cancellation case for the CHP's 38th Ordinary Istanbul Provincial Congress has been postponed to July 10. It was decided that the Call Committee led by Gürsel Tekin would continue its duty. Let us remind you. The criminal case with 12 defendants, opened on the allegation that the voting was rigged at the 38th Ordinary Grand Convention in Ankara, had also been postponed to July 1."

CLAIM THAT "CONFESSION FILES WERE SENT TO THE APPELLATE COURT"

Tayyar claimed that the archives regarding the convention, within the scope of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality investigation, were also sent to the appellate court file.

In his post, referring to the testimonies of detained Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım and Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Gökhan Böcek, Tayyar made the following assessment:

"Let us recall that the entire archive regarding the convention in the IMM case, and the confessions of Özkan Yalım and Gökhan Böcek, have been sent to the appellate court where the absolute nullity case is being heard."

"DO NOT EXPECT A DECISION BEFORE JULY"

In the continuation of his statement, Şamil Tayyar shared his own assessment regarding the "absolute nullity" debates.

Tayyar used the following expressions:

"So? If we put the pieces of the puzzle together, to express it as an opinion rather than information, do not expect an 'absolute nullity' decision before July."

"THE JULY 10 DECISION MAY BE AWAITED"

In his personal assessment, Tayyar also used notable expressions regarding the appellate process.

He included the following assessment in his statement:

"My personal interpretation is that the Appellate Court may wait for the decision to come from Istanbul on July 10 to upload its own decision to UYAP. Anything before that would be a surprise."
