In the process that began after Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu was appointed as chairman by a court decision within the CHP, the preparations for a new party by Özgür Özel and his colleagues have reached the final stage. According to information shared in political circles, the name of the party to be founded has been determined as "Yeni Parti".
According to a report by Cumhuriyet, the party's founding petition is expected to be submitted to the Ministry of Interior on Monday, July 27. It is also stated that there is a low probability that the application could be delayed until July 28. Following the application, the documents are expected to be sent to the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeals for registration procedures.
THE PARTY'S NAME AND COLORS HAVE BEEN FINALIZED
It is stated that the expectations from the grassroots to "found a new party" were influential in determining the name of the new party. Despite the historical weight of the CHP name, it was noted that the expression "Yeni Parti" was directly preferred for the name of the new formation.
It was learned that the colors for the party, for which logo work is ongoing, have been determined as red and white. It is stated that this choice is associated with the "Turkey alliance" rhetoric that Özgür Özel has frequently used since the local elections.
According to information reflected from CHP circles, the elected Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently in detention as part of the legal proceedings, also participated in the evaluations regarding the new party process. It was reported that İmamoğlu expressed his views on the party's name, colors, and other topics.
OVER 90 DEPUTIES HAVE SIGNED
It is stated that over 90 deputies have signed for the New Party so far. There is talk in political circles that this number could exceed 100 in the first stage. It was stated that Özgür Özel is expected to be the last to sign the founders' board petition.
Among the information reported is that a building has been determined for the party's headquarters and an agreement has been reached regarding the rent. It was noted that party buildings are being prepared in many provinces, including Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir, Samsun, Adana, and Trabzon, and that the officialization of the establishment is awaited for the signs to be put up.
After the establishment is completed, the Founders' Board is expected to meet first. At this meeting, it is planned to elect the chairman and the Central Executive Board, and then for the Central Executive Board to make appointments to provincial presidencies.
It is stated that after clarifying its staff, the New Party will be in the field throughout the summer and will establish direct contact with the public. The party program is expected to be prepared and announced to the public after these contacts. It is stated that social democracy, the Six Arrows, and universal values will come to the fore among the starting points of the program.
