The reason why the CHP does not want an early election has become clear!
Following CHP leader Özgür Özel's statement that "I have no call for an early election," CHP sources have explained why they do not want one. Believing that newly won municipalities would have no impact in a potential early election, CHP sources think that municipal services will be the key to power.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel stated to journalists at the April 23 reception in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), "I have no call for an early election." Özel added that if citizens were to demand an early election, he would be "the person who would want an early election the most."
According to a report by Mustafa Bildircin from Birgün, CHP sources responded to the question, "Why does the CHP not want an early election?" CHP officials stated that the key to general elections lies in the municipalities.
Having emerged victorious from the March 31 Local Elections, the CHP will prepare a report regarding the total debts of the municipalities they have newly won and how these debts will be managed. This report will also be on the table during the meeting between CHP leader Özgür Özel and AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
"MUNICIPALITIES WILL HAVE NO IMPACT IN AN EARLY ELECTION"
Having gained the right to govern municipalities that account for 65 percent of the population and 80 percent of Turkey's economy with the electoral success achieved on March 31, the CHP will not demand an early election with the belief that "in a potential early election, municipalities will have no impact."
CHP'S ROADMAP
The CHP will implement its concept of social municipalism in the municipalities it has newly won. In addition to this, a 'Savings Circular' will be sent from the party to the municipalities. Through this, the aim is to ensure that 'the public trusts the CHP.'
"MUNICIPAL SERVICES WILL BE THE KEY TO POWER"
Assessing that it would be difficult for the CHP to win power alone if an early election were to take place, the CHP will act with the evaluation that "our municipalities' services will be the key to power in a general election held on time."
