CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, in a speech he gave in Silivri, drew attention to a prosecutor working in Istanbul keeping a "White Toros" model on his desk, a vehicle synonymous with unsolved murders in the 1990s. Criticizing this situation, Özel said, "Who are you threatening by putting a white Toros on your desk?"

Reminding of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's past statements regarding unsolved murders, Özel said, "Erdoğan had said, 'White Toros vehicles enabled the Kurdish issue and the strengthening of the PKK.' Today, prosecutors who have a white Toros on their desks are reminding us of the dark periods of the past."

CHP Diyarbakır MP Sezgin Tanrıkulu, in a post he made on social media, criticized this attitude of the prosecutor and called on President Erdoğan and Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç. Tanrıkulu asked, "Are you considering taking any action regarding this prosecutor?"

In his post, Tanrıkulu stated, "The White Toros is a significant trauma in our history. Many of our citizens were disappeared with these vehicles, and their fates are still unknown. For this reason, the White Toros has become a burden of memory and a symbol."

On the other hand, Tanrıkulu stated that the prosecutor was involved in the investigations conducted against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, saying, "The prosecutor conducting these investigations has a White Toros model on his desk. This situation helps us better understand how the investigations are being conducted."

Reminding that President Erdoğan described White Toros vehicles as "the bad practices of a period" in his speech in Kızılcahamam, Tanrıkulu said, "Prosecutors who emphasize the unsolved murders of the past are applying enemy criminal law against mayors and business people today."

Tanrıkulu called on President Erdoğan, the Minister of Justice, and the Council of Judges and Prosecutors, asking, "Is this your way of holding people accountable?"

Tanrıkulu included the following statements in his post:

“On Saturday, July 12, in Kızılcahamam, you commemorated and condemned the White Toros vehicles as the bad practices of a period.

The prosecutor who uses the White Toros metaphor on his desk is in charge of the investigation regarding the IMM Mayor İmamoğlu, Mayors, and politicians!

Will you have a word, a decision, or a sanction?

"The White Toros" is a significant trauma in our own history. Hundreds of our citizens and relatives were kidnapped and disappeared with these vehicles. Their fates are still unknown. That is why the White Toros has turned into a symbol; it is a burden of memory.

Even in stadiums and in the stands, "White Toros" banners were unfurled. Some used it to condemn it, while others used this metaphor to threaten a period.

A White Toros also waited in front of my house. The Chief Public Prosecutor of the time called me and said, "Do not open the door, do not go outside." I never forgot that night. This trauma is not personal; it is social.

Today, our Chairman highlighted a prosecutor who uses the White Toros as a metaphor, and this prosecutor has a White Toros model on his desk. Today, that prosecutor is one of the names at the head of the investigations regarding our Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor and our Presidential Candidate, Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu.

President Mr. Erdoğan made a "historic" speech last Saturday in Kızılcahamam, as stated by the Party Spokespersons. While talking about a solution regarding the Kurdish Issue in that speech, he emphasized White Toros vehicles and village burnings, and specifically commemorated the White Toros, calling them "the bad practices of a period."

Today, the prosecutor conducting these investigations has a White Toros model on his desk.

Now you can better understand who is conducting these investigations and how.

Prosecutors who emphasize the unsolved murders of the past and use this White Toros metaphor are on duty and are conducting investigations that apply enemy criminal law to mayors, bureaucrats, and business people.

My words are to President Mr. Erdoğan, the Minister of Justice, and the Council of Judges and Prosecutors;

Is this your way of holding people accountable?

We have made our statement, and our Chairman said what needed to be said today. Now, if you have an answer, you can say it."
