The plane carrying Pope Leo XIV landed at Ankara Esenboğa Airport at 12:23 PM.
Welcomed at the airport by Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and other officials, the Pope has begun his official contacts in Turkey.
As part of his visit program, Pope Leo XIV is scheduled to visit Anıtkabir to pay his respects during the day, and subsequently meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex.
