IYI Party Istanbul Youth Branch members Oğuz Talha Uz, Baturalp Akalın, and Akif Demirel were detained in Beşiktaş for distributing leaflets that carried a message regarding "preventing the Arabization of Turkey."

IYI Party Youth Branch Istanbul Provincial President Muhammet Akyüz stated, "Three of my valued companions from the Istanbul Youth Branch were detained today because of the leaflets they distributed in Beşiktaş. Leave the Turkish nationalist youth alone now."

"THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH WHAT THEY DID"

IYI Party Deputy Chairman Buğra Kavuncu made a post on the social media platform X regarding the matter.

Kavuncu's post is as follows:

"Oğuz Talha Uz, Baturalp Akalın, and Akif Demirel are clean, bright young patriots. There is nothing wrong with what they did. They wanted to express their views in the most democratic way. What is untrue in what they said?

You cannot touch Turkish youth or our IYI Party brothers and sisters because of their opinions. I immediately called our Istanbul Provincial President and our Youth Branch President. Our organization stands with our youth. All our friends, including our lawyer members, have taken action for the freedom of our youth right now."
