TKP calls for organization on its 106th anniversary: 'If there is to be a Republic in the new century, get to work'

The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP), in a statement released for its 106th anniversary, issued a call to organize for the goal of a "true Republic in the new century."

The statement from the TKP, which was founded on September 10, 1920, noted that the "torch of independence and socialism" was lit during the years of the War of Independence, and stated that the party continues to struggle in the same direction today.

WHAT WAS EMPHASIZED IN THE STATEMENT?

The statement argued that Turkey is going through a difficult period under conditions defined as a "regime of exploitation" and a "wheel of plunder." It was claimed that the country's resources, the public's intellect, and labor are being looted with an "unrestrained merchant mentality."

The TKP argued that the political scene is shaped to hide these realities, stating that the People's Alliance (Cumhur İttifakı) is being expanded and conditions for a new wave of "not enough but yes" are being prepared. The statement expressed the view that no benefit will come to the people from capitalist parties.

In the party statement, it was claimed that there is a process of destruction facing the gains of the Republic, and the phrases "If we allow it, they will do it... This cannot be allowed and we will not allow it!" were used.

At the end of its statement, the TKP called on laborers, patriots, and republicans to "close ranks" and organize within the party. The text concluded with the words, "Long live the TKP! Long live the Socialist Republic!"
