TKP publishes the second installment of its 'crimes against secularism' dossier

As part of its 'We Are on the Heels of Cults' initiative launched some time ago, the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) has published the second installment of its dossier series, which highlights crimes committed against secularism each week.

The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP)stated in its report, "In Turkey, cults continue their anti-republican and illegal activities, dividing society through the government's normalization efforts and by exploiting all state resources. Since they cannot achieve the legitimacy they desire among the working classes, they disguise themselves as NGOs, hide behind protocols, and continue to exploit religion.

Moreover, they pose a danger not only within the country's borders but also on an international scale." The report further stated that through the struggle carried out under the #WeAreOnTheHeelsOfCults initiative, "We will root out the darkness caused by these cults from our beautiful country. We will continue to expose and track the crimes they commit."

DOSSIER LISTED

The crimes committed against secularism were listed in the dossier as follows:

  • A company owned by the sons of Yusuf Tülün, the former AKP Mayor of Sarıyer and President of the Foundation for the Spread of Knowledge (İlim Yayma Cemiyeti), has secured another tender worth 26.5 million from the AKP-run Beykoz Municipality.
  • Books belonging to the Işık Community were distributed for free to students at a public high school in Ordu.
  • On December 25, the Sakarya Provincial Directorate of National Education signed a protocol with the reactionary Humanitarian Relief Foundation (İHH) and the pro-government Memur-Sen.
  • In Aydın, imams and muezzins were assigned to 187 schools. The Ministry of National Education (MEB) had claimed in an official letter sent to the Eğitim-İş union that no assignments had been made from the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) to schools under the ÇEDES project. It has become clear that the MEB concealed the truth in its official correspondence.
  • It has emerged that the Çankaya District Directorate of National Education sent money collected in primary schools under the guise of charity fairs to the Diyanet Foundation. Furthermore, this transfer of funds was explicitly stated in an official document.
  • The MEB's close ties with the IHH continue. This foundation, known for its support of jihadists, has recently become the apple of the ministry's eye. The Sakarya Provincial Directorate of National Education signed a protocol with the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) and the pro-government Memur-Sen union. The scope of the protocol was announced as a charity fair for Palestine.
  • The İsmailağa cult continues its international activities. The cult's foreign services organization, İDDEF, visited the Taliban and announced that they have made new openings in the fields of 'social services and education' in Afghanistan.
