TKP reacts to Minister Tekin over 'cults'

The TKP, reacting to Minister of National Education Tekin's announcement that he will continue to sign protocols with cults and religious communities, stated, "We will protect our children and youth from you. We will dismantle the cults and religious communities."

The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) has reacted to Minister Yusuf Tekin's defense of cults and religious communities. In a statement, the party said, "We warn the government, which is waging an open war against reason, science, and secularism, and the Minister of that government: The protocols you have made are a crime."

"WE WILL DISMANTLE CULTS AND RELIGIOUS COMMUNITIES"

The statement from the TKP is as follows:

"Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin has openly declared that protocols have been made and will continue to be made with cults and religious communities at the Ministry level! We warn the government, which is waging an open war against reason, science, and secularism, and the Minister of that government: The protocols you have made are a crime!

Cults are centers of hostility toward the Republic and counter-revolution under the guise of non-governmental organizations. They are reactionary formations that have integrated their old feudal structures into today's capitalist order, where all kinds of corrupt financial dealings take place. The exploitation of labor and religion are combined within them. By signing protocols with these structures, the Minister of National Education is ensuring the transfer of public resources to cults, while planning to create a generation hostile to the Republic in return. Our children are being left without a future in this anti-people structure.

We will protect our children and youth from you. We will dismantle the cults and religious communities."

WHAT DID MINISTER TEKIN SAY?

In his speech at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) General Assembly, Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin stated, "We have about 10 protocols in total with structures that you call 'cults and religious communities' and we call 'NGOs'. I would like to thank those who support us with these protocols. We will continue to make protocols with them."
