TOKİ tender in Hatay awarded to Erdoğan's neighbor

The tender for housing to be built by TOKİ in Hatay, one of the areas most affected by the February 6 earthquakes, has been awarded to a neighbor of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Reconstruction efforts continue in Hatay, which was devastated by the February 6 earthquakes. Following the previous awarding of a tender in Arsuz to AKP parliamentary candidate hopeful Aziz Özkılıç, another tender in İskenderun has been awarded to Ahmet Cengiz Özdemir, a neighbor of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at his home in Kısıklı, Istanbul.

According to a report by Deniz Ayhan from Sözcü, the construction tender for 612 residences and 18 shops in İskenderun, Hatay, worth 1 billion 718 million TL, was awarded to Ahmet Cengiz Özdemir's company, Siyah Kalem. 

It was stated that the contract for the tender, which was held on June 5 via the 2B procedure, was signed on July 12 for 1 billion 718 million TL.

The company is known for the tenders it has received from Emlak Konut, TOKİ, and the public sector. Siyah Kalem won the construction of the TRNC Presidential Palace, the Republican Assembly, a public garden, a mosque, and auxiliary facilities for a price of 2 billion 497 million TL.
