Trump's call to NATO on Russia: Tensions rising
U.S. President Donald Trump has called on NATO countries to stop purchasing oil from Russia and to implement comprehensive sanctions against Moscow.

In a letter sent to NATO member countries, U.S. President Donald Trump requested that they cut off oil imports from Russia and impose serious sanctions on Moscow in order to end the conflict in Ukraine.
In a statement made via social media, Trump said, "When all NATO countries stop buying oil from Russia, I am ready to impose major sanctions on Russia." He also suggested that NATO weaken Russia's economic power by imposing tariffs of between 50 and 100 percent on China.
SANCTIONS ON INDIA, WARNING TO CHINA
This call from Trump is a continuation of his previous threats of sanctions against Moscow and warnings of secondary sanctions against countries like China and India that purchase Russian oil. While the President imposed an additional 25 percent tariff on Indian products due to India's continued import of Russian oil, he had not taken a similar step against China.
