DEM Party deputies protested the appointment of a trustee to the Siirt Municipality in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) General Assembly today by banging on their desks and applauding.
Upon this, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Celal Adan suspended the session.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Following the sentencing of DEM Party Siirt Mayor Sofya Alağaş to 6 years and 3 months in prison yesterday on charges of membership in a terrorist organization, Siirt Governor Kemal Kızılkaya was appointed as a trustee to the municipality this morning.
