CHP Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın made harsh criticisms regarding the appointment of trustees to the companies of Aziz İhsan Aktaş, who was arrested as part of the investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) and released after benefiting from effective remorse provisions. Günaydın questioned why the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) appointed trustees 4 months after Aktaş's release.

Questioning the timing of the appointment of trustees to Aktaş's companies, Günaydın asked, "Why were they seized by the TMSF not while he was in custody, not at the time of his release, but exactly 4 months after his release?" The fact that Aktaş was released after his detention period and the delay in the appointment of trustees were met with reaction from the CHP front.

ALLEGATIONS OF AN AGREEMENT WITH AKTAŞ

Günaydın argued that the appointment of trustees to his companies after Aktaş's release raised suspicions that an agreement had been reached between them. Claiming that an agreement had been made with Aktaş, Günaydın said, "It is never difficult for those who know a little bit about these matters to estimate the positive and negative changes that occurred in the balance sheets of those companies during the mentioned period."

CHP Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın used the following expressions in his post on his X account:

"Criminal organization leader Aziz İhsan Aktaş was released on June 4, 2025, by benefiting from 'effective remorse'. Although he confessed in a live broadcast that he received tenders from 99 AKP, 27 MHP, 21 trustee-run municipalities, and 132 public institutions, it is public knowledge that operations were only carried out against some CHP-run municipalities... This situation alone is clear evidence that the operations are political, not legal.

Now the current question is: Why were Aziz İhsan Aktaş's companies seized by the TMSF not while he was in custody, not at the time of his release, but exactly 4 months after his release? Moreover, this happened after the companies were saved from enforcement threats through the concordat process...

It is never difficult for those who know a little bit about these matters to estimate the positive and negative changes that occurred in the balance sheets of those companies during the mentioned period. When you add to this that Aziz İhsan Aktaş will be utilized in the hearings following the indictment(s), the nature of the agreement becomes clear.

The only way to take this matter out of the 'open secret' status is for the changes in the assets and liabilities of the companies (at least) within the last year to be examined and reported by independent audit firms and presented to the public.

If it is not presented today, it will be looked at tomorrow.

Nothing remains hidden under this sky."
