Following the 38th Ordinary Congress, CHP has accelerated its local election preparations.
As the candidate determination process begins within the CHP, satisfaction surveys will be conducted for incumbent mayors. The statement by CHP leader Özgür Özel that “mayors outside of Istanbul, Ankara, and Aydın will be determined through ‘satisfaction surveys,’ the organization's opinion, and trend polls” has turned eyes toward İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer.
"I BELIEVE I DESERVE ANOTHER TERM"
According to a report by Cumhuriyet; stating that he does not shy away from surveys, Tunç Soyer said, “My greatest source of morale and energy comes from the streets. I believe I deserve another term.”
Soyer’s statements are as follows;
“We have been conducting survey studies since the day we took office, and we continue to do so. We have had surveys conducted to see our shortcomings and the public's satisfaction. There is no question of us shying away from a survey. We had a survey conducted between July 14 and July 28. According to the survey results we received, it is 57 percent. I was elected with 58.1 percent. There was an alliance at that time as well. It made us happy to see a figure directed at the name even when there is no alliance in sight. New surveys will come after this. We would never shy away from surveys. As long as they are objective.”
