Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu opened a life center in Gaziosmanpaşa. He was accompanied by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer, who was not renominated for his position.
Soyer asked for votes for İmamoğlu, saying, "It is our turn to stand by him."
Speaking at the opening, Soyer asked for support for İmamoğlu, saying, "Mayor Ekrem has looked after Istanbul with passion, love, and devotion for five years. Now it is our turn, it is our turn to stand by him.

In his speech, İmamoğlu stated that Soyer would work with him in Istanbul, saying, "For five years, we shared a common destiny with 11 metropolitan mayor colleagues, including Tunç Bey. We stood shoulder to shoulder.
We did good work. We may have had shortcomings. But we will continue to be side by side, shoulder to shoulder, with our accumulated experience.
