Tuncay Mollaveisoğlu's take on 'Bülent Arınç': Lacking sincerity, a preparation for a U-turn

Speaking on a television program, Bülent Arınç, a founder of the AKP and former Speaker of the TBMM, stated that the cancellation of the diploma of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu—who was detained on March 19 and subsequently arrested—was wrong, "Those who think a conspiracy was set up cannot be considered wrong" he said. 

Journalist Tuncay Mollaveisoğlu, stating that it is not accurate to interpret Arınç's remarks as a 'rift' or a matter of 'conscience,' expressed the following in a post on his social media account:

It is not accurate to interpret Bülent Arınç's statement as a "rift" or a matter of "conscience."
Just as in the past, Arınç is creating an atmosphere as if the party has a "conscience," as if there is a pluralistic structure and a culture of dissent within the AKP. He is never sincere.

"It is not accurate to interpret Bülent Arınç's statement as a "rift" or a matter of "conscience."

Just as in the past, Arınç is creating an atmosphere as if the party has a "conscience," as if there is a pluralistic structure and a culture of dissent within the AKP. He is never sincere. 

He aims to prevent the emotional detachment of voters within the AKP who say "this is too much injustice" and are on the verge of breaking away, by saying "look, there are those among us who think this way too." 

Another reason for this statement by Arınç is the effort to pave the way for a "U-turn"... Citizens are on the streets... The whole country is burning with injustice and economic crisis... If the reaction from the outside world regarding İmamoğlu grows, and if the internal wave expands, the "U-turn" that Bülent Arınç is paving the way for will be activated... The AKP will be the one who puts people in prison, the one who arrests them unjustly, and the one who takes them out and seeks absolution..."
