Turmoil continues in the IYI Party, which rejected the CHP's proposal for cooperation in the local elections.
Following resignations, news of expulsions has also emerged from the IYI Party, with the latest being the removal of Deputy Chairman Ahmet Zeki Üçok from his post.
'OPERATION ON THE PARTY'
According to a report by Cumhuriyet; IYI Party officials state that Üçok was removed from his post due to a map he presented at the GIK (General Administrative Board) meeting. Üçok had demonstrated with the map that if an alliance is not formed, the IYI Party would finish ahead in only 1 district. Some party officials, however, state that the decision to remove Üçok was wrong. The officials noted that the party's structure has reached a point where it can no longer accept qualified figures like Üçok.
"THOSE WHO ADVOCATE FOR COOPERATION WILL BE 'CUT DOWN' BY AKŞENER"
Noting that resignations and removals regarding the "cooperation" decision will continue until the local elections, officials state that those who advocated for cooperation at the GIK meeting will be "cut down" by Meral Akşener.
On the other hand, one official also expresses that the party is losing credibility in the eyes of the voters due to these developments. A high-level party executive, who assesses that the party is in a state of resistance far removed from the realities of Turkey, says that the party is being targeted by an operation because some want to dismantle it and divide its legacy.
ENSARIOĞLU RAN FROM IYI PARTY TO JOIN AKP
IYI Party Istanbul Deputy Mehmet Salim Ensarioğlu, who was referred to the disciplinary board due to his statements regarding Sheikh Said, has also resigned from the party. A high-level official commented, "He created the necessary environment to join the AKP. Defending a name who is an enemy of the Republic and Atatürk is unacceptable. He had already run from the IYI Party to join the AKP. Some names in the party opposed Ensarioğlu's candidacy. However, Akşener did not listen."
