Ümit Dikbayır speaks at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey: 'They expelled justice from the İYİ Party'

Ümit Dikbayır, who made headlines over allegations of investigating the bank accounts of İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener and claims of harassment, made statements at a press conference held at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

Stating that he was expelled by the İYİ Party on the grounds that he "criticized the party in front of the press," Dikbayır said, "They did not expel me from the İYİ Party; they expelled justice." Expressing that he will continue his political career as an independent member of parliament, Dikbayır asked, "Now it is my turn to ask. I was accused of investigating the chair's bank accounts, I was accused of doing business with municipalities. Why didn't you expel me for those reasons?"

"I HAVE RECEIVED NOTHING"

Addressing the claim that Meral Akşener's chief of staff, Esma Bekar, had filed a criminal complaint, Dikbayır said, "No lawsuit has reached me. Both Esma Bekar and Sedat Aksakallı said they filed lawsuits regarding my allegations. I am waiting eagerly. So far, I have received nothing. Let them file these lawsuits so I can respond. Let us share our accounts and books with the public," he said.

Criticizing the influence of the chair's chief of staff, Ümit Dikbayır used the expression, "If the Chair had called me and said, 'Ümit, stand aside for a while, take a rest,' I would not have let her finish her second sentence." Dikbayır added, "She cannot give up on those few people there. That is for the public to judge."

"THEY OFFERED MY ADVISOR A CHANCE TO BE A SPY"

Furthermore, stating that he had submitted a petition to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the slanders against him, Dikbayır said, "These actions are FETÖ-style methods. But I cannot call anyone a FETÖ member. I am not a judge, I am not a prosecutor. But they offered my advisor a chance to be a spy, they offered cooperation. It is proven and documented. When the time comes, I will explain them one by one." Stating that he would follow these allegations to the end, Dikbayır said, "Let them take me to court over these allegations. I trust the honorable judges and prosecutors of this country."
