Ümit Özdağ announces! Threat against Zafer Party from HÜDA PAR candidate

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ was in Kapaklı, Tekirdağ today as part of his election campaign. Özdağ participated in activities with Tekirdağ provincial chairman Fatih Altıntaş and Kapaklı mayoral candidate Kürşat Kağan Demirel. Özdağ later announced that Altıntaş had been called and threatened by the HÜDA PAR mayoral candidate.

In a post on his social media account, Özdağ wrote the following:

“Today in our Kapaklı district of Tekirdağ, our district mayoral candidate Kürşat Kağan Demirel and our provincial chairman Fatih Altıntaş conducted stand and propaganda activities at the local market between 14:00 and 17:00. Our election vehicle also arrived, and our Kapaklı mayoral candidate Kürşat Kağan Demirel stated, ‘We do not call Sheikh Said honorable; we call him a traitor and a terrorist.’ A short while later, our Tekirdağ provincial chairman was called from an unknown number. The caller said, ‘I am the HÜDA PAR Kapaklı candidate Veysi Güngör. You cannot call Sheikh Said a traitor,’ and proceeded to use very heavy profanities befitting himself. Our friends have filed a criminal complaint against him. As the grandson of the commander of the unit that brought Sheikh Said to Diyarbakır to be tried, and as the chairman of the Zafer Party, I state here: Sheikh Said is a vile enemy of the Turks, a Russian and British collaborator, and a traitorous terrorist. Anyone who cannot call Sheikh Said a traitor is either a potential traitor or a person who lacks a national political character. I warn the individual named Veysi Güngör and those like him. Who do you think you are to threaten the Zafer Party and its members?”

In his post, Özdağ also shared Altıntaş’s statement.

In his statement, Altıntaş said that about half an hour after the election campaign ended, he was called by an unknown number, and the caller introduced himself as HÜDA PAR Kapaklı mayoral candidate Veysi Güngör. Altıntaş alleged that Güngör made threats against him, saying, “How can you call Sheikh Said a traitor, a terrorist? Do you have a death wish? I will ruin you. Do you have a death wish? I will make Kapaklı too small for you. I won't let you enter here.”
