IYI Party leader Meral Akşener brought CHP leader Özgür Özel's cooperation proposal to the General Administrative Board. The proposal was rejected by the GİK.
Party Spokesperson Kürşad Zorlu announced the decision by saying they will enter the elections "free and independent."
Victory Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ, on the other hand, reiterated his call for cooperation, saying, "It is a late but correct decision."
"IF THEY DO NOT FORM A COOPERATION WITH THE VICTORY PARTY..."
Özdağ stated the following:
"The IYI Party's decision not to form an alliance with the CHP is a late but correct decision. However, in these days when the IYI Party has taken the step to part ways with the CHP, the People's Alliance is experiencing its strongest period. If the IYI Party does not form an electoral cooperation with the Victory Party, the step of separating from the CHP will result in open support for the People's Alliance."
"THIRD OPTION"
"The electoral cooperation proposed by the Victory Party to the IYI Party will be the only real obstacle to the electoral success of the People's Alliance. The Victory Party-IYI Party electoral cooperation will present a real third option in a politics divided along the CHP-AKP axis."
"For the masses who are forced to vote for alliances shaped around the AKP and CHP, the Victory-IYI Party alliance will be a new center of attraction. The Victory Party appears at 6.5% and the IYI Party at 7.5% in the polls. It is seen that in the event of an electoral cooperation, this rate will easily reach 20%. Under current conditions, what needs to be done is to postpone past and present different understandings and mutual objections, and to present a new option for the voters."
