Ümit Özdağ gives a date for early elections! 'This won't wait until 2028...'

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ made striking statements regarding the current agenda on Sözcü TV.

Speaking on the new Constitution debates, Özdağ also provided a date for early elections.

Answering questions from İpek Özbey, Özdağ argued that the local election results would lead to the general elections in 2028 being moved forward. Özdağ stated that the new Constitution plan would also be carried out in this direction.

“EARLY ELECTIONS IN 2025”

“Early election results will emerge from these (local) election results,” said Özdağ, continuing as follows:

“This won't wait until 2028. I think this will be over by 2025. You will see, they cannot bring the constitution immediately because of this.

“MHP IS NOT THE INSURANCE AGAINST THE REMOVAL OF THE FIRST 3 ARTICLES”

Moreover, a constituent assembly is needed to change this constitution entirely. This parliament cannot change this constitution as they wish. This parliament cannot change the first 3 articles of the constitution. For that, a constituent assembly is needed. A constituent assembly requires a new election. As the Zafer Party, we state this clearly: We will not let the first 3 articles of the Constitution be touched. We will not let Article 66 be touched. The MHP is not the insurance to prevent this. The insurance of the founding philosophy of the Republic of Turkey is the Zafer Party.”
