Ümit Özdağ, who called for an alliance with Akşener, reveals Zafer Party's vote share: 'The vote gap between us and İYİ Party is 1 percent'

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ was a guest on journalist Bahar Feyzan's live YouTube broadcast.

Özdağ, who recently called for an alliance with the İYİ Party, announced his party's vote share during the live broadcast.

Özdağ responded to Bahar Feyzan's question, "You previously said on my show, 'If Machiavelli were alive and knew Ms. Meral, he would have titled his book 'Princess' instead of 'The Prince.' Despite this, why did you make a cooperation offer?" as follows:

"WE ARE CURRENTLY POLLING AT 6.5 PERCENT"

"In the tweet where I made this call to Ms. Meral, I reiterated the criticisms I had made before. I have not stepped back from any of them. Those criticisms remain. But I am saying something there. 'Let's set these aside, let's resolve them or not. There is a two-polar politics on the axis of the AKP and the CHP. Let's break this and allow Atatürk supporters and Turkish nationalists to comfortably vote for an alliance.' Let there be a third option. Because right now we are polling at 6.5 percent, and the İYİ Party is polling at 7.5 percent. There is no exaggeration in these figures I have given. This is how it comes out in the polls we conduct, but it also comes out this way in all polls other than ours. In other words, the vote gap between us and the İYİ Party has dropped to 1 today."

"You can fight in politics, but you should not define all of politics with your personal feelings and become a burden to the nation. That is why we, as the Zafer Party, while our criticisms remain, put them in parentheses and made an offer. I also requested a meeting with Ms. Meral through her private secretary. There was no response. I tweeted on Friday and asked the next day as well. But there was no response. I don't know if there will be. But as a party, we have done our duty."
