Victory Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ has issued an alliance call to IYI Party Chairwoman Meral Akşener via the social media platform X.
CALL FOR ALLIANCE
Özdağ stated, "Let us break the current binary polarization by dispersing it with the synergy that will be created by a large patriotic, Kemalist, Turkish nationalist voter base that will form around a Victory Party-IYI Party alliance, which will be established on the basis of an unwavering belief in the founding values of our Republic. Many parties, groups, and influential politicians will come together around a Victory-IYI alliance."
"MR. ÖZEL WILL INVITE YOU TO THE NEW ALLIANCE HE HAS FORMED WITH THE HDP"
Özdağ's 'alliance' call to Meral Akşener is as follows:
"Ms. Akşener, tomorrow you will be visited by Özgür Özel, the new chairman of the New CHP, who supports not the protocol put forward by the Turkish nationalist Victory Party on the Atatürk line, which defends the state's founding philosophy as determined by Atatürk, but rather the approach of the HDP, which advocates for federation and division under the guise of equal citizenship as determined by Öcalan.
Before visiting you, Mr. Özgür made a 'hand-kissing' visit and then accepted a visit from the person who is the head of the TTB, who supported the plot set up against the Turkish army by collaborating with FETÖ in the Ergenekon case, and who attacks the Turkish state and nation at every opportunity.
Mr. Özel has entered very dangerous waters by framing the issue of municipalities where trustees were appointed within the framework of the fight against terrorism as the 'Kurdish voters' right to vote being taken away. Tomorrow, Mr. Özel will invite you to the new alliance he has formed with the HDP. And he will likely ask for your support for Ankara and Istanbul in exchange for the CHP supporting the IYI Party in some provinces within the framework of electoral cooperation.
Ms. Akşener, before the 2019 local elections, I warned you in writing and verbally against forming an alliance with the CHP in an environment where the People's Alliance (Cumhur İttifakı) was also dissolving. I stated that this alliance would leave the IYI Party facing accusations of being in an alliance with the HDP. You did not listen then. You formed an alliance with the CHP and were instrumental in the establishment of the People's Alliance."
"IF YOU HAD LISTENED, A NEW HORIZON COULD HAVE OPENED IN TURKISH POLITICS"
During the 2019 election process, I warned you 3 times, requesting that you withdraw the IYI Party candidate in Kars, saying that if we did not withdraw our candidate, the HDP would win. And the HDP won the elections in Kars. After the election, you said, 'The IYI Party has come out as an apprentice from the local elections.'
Ms. Akşener, while heading into the 2023 elections, the Victory Party announced Mansur Yavaş as the 'winnable candidate' for the presidency in April 2022. You waited 9 months to make the same announcement. When the CHP opposed Yavaş's candidacy, I called on you and proposed showing Mansur Yavaş as the joint candidate of the Victory Party and the IYI Party. You turned a deaf ear. Yet, if you had listened, a new horizon could have opened in Turkish politics.
"WE PROPOSE A TURKISH NATIONALIST ALLIANCE"
Ms. Akşener, at the point we have reached now, do not drag the sincere Turkish nationalists, Kemalists, and patriots who have given their hearts to the IYI Party into an alliance with the HDP once again. However, do not drag them into helplessness against the People's Alliance either. Since you were the reason for the re-establishment of the People's Alliance, you bear a great responsibility in this regard. Come, let us postpone our disagreements on some important points to be resolved later, or not at all. Let us break the current binary polarization by dispersing the AK Party and CHP-centered political structure with the synergy that will be created by a large patriotic, Kemalist, Turkish nationalist voter base that will form around a Victory Party-IYI Party alliance, which will be established on the basis of an unwavering belief in the founding values of our Republic. Many parties, groups, and influential politicians will come together around a Victory-IYI alliance.
We have been evaluating this issue for some time. We discussed and debated it again at the last GİK (General Administrative Board) meeting of the Victory Party. Then we continued our discussions with smaller groups. We were thinking of conveying this offer to you in a suitable environment after the internal party discussions of the IYI Party had subsided. However, because we know about the CHP's visit and the pressure on you from certain groups, we are proposing a Turkish nationalist alliance on the Atatürk line, not behind closed doors, but in front of the entire Turkish Nation before this visit."
Ms. Akşener, tomorrow you will be visited by... the approach of the HDP, which advocates for federation and division under the guise of equal citizenship as determined by Öcalan...
