İYİ Party's İzmir Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Ümit Özlale has responded to resignation rumors.

According to a report by Ceren Bayar from Duvar, Özlale stated that he continues his work in İzmir, where he is the mayoral candidate, and in the Parliament's Planning and Budget Committee representing his party, saying, "It has even been written that I will resign, switch to another party, and that the AK Party will not field a candidate in İzmir in my favor. All of these are illogical."

"WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT OTHER THINGS"

Addressing comments that he might resign due to being uncomfortable with the speculation surrounding his party, Özlale said, "Things that can happen within any party and should remain internal are being reflected externally. It saddens me that they are being discussed in the public eye, but this is not a reason for resignation. These are issues we need to resolve internally. With the economy in this state, we need to be talking about other things," he said.

"MS. MERAL WOULDN'T EVEN FEEL THE NEED TO ASK"

When asked whether he had spoken with Meral Akşener after the resignation rumors surfaced, Özlale said, "Just yesterday, I spoke with the Chairwoman about İzmir's campaign strategy. Even if Ms. Meral heard this claim, she wouldn't even feel the need to ask me about it."
