Venue for CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress has been determined

The CHP's provincial congress calendar, which began in August, is ongoing.

Within the framework of the congress calendar, which is planned to be completed by the end of October, 1370 congress delegates as well as 81 provincial chairs will be determined.

67 PROVINCIAL CHAIRS ELECTED

So far in the CHP, 67 provincial chairs have been elected, primarily in Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir. In the Istanbul Provincial Congress held over the weekend, Özgür Çelik, who was stated to be the candidate of the "change advocates," won the election against former chair Cemal Canpolat.

Istanbul, with 196 congress delegates, holds the position of the most important province for the grand congress.

CONGRESS VENUE DETERMINED

In accordance with the decision taken by the CHP Party Assembly (PM), the Ankara Sports Hall has been rented by the party's general directorate for the 38th Ordinary Congress to be held on November 4-5. The directorate has also begun renting accommodation for 1500 people, including 1370 delegates. Work on the congress slogan is still underway.

The party general directorate, which has decided to begin hall preparations 2-3 days in advance, will use a "turnstile" system to ensure that delegates cast their votes quickly and that there is no confusion at entrances and exits.

At the CHP's congress to be held on November 4-5, the election of the general chair will take place on the first day, and the election of the members of the PM and the High Disciplinary Board will take place on the second day. To be a candidate for general chair in the CHP, the signatures of 5 percent of the delegates are required.

BYLAWS CONGRESS AT THE END OF NOVEMBER

On the other hand, the drafting of the CHP's new bylaws and party program continues. A bylaws congress is expected to be held two weeks after the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress. Changes aimed at modernizing the party bylaws will be discussed at the bylaws congress.

In this context, the bylaws of left-wing parties in Europe have been placed under scrutiny. In addition, the bylaws of other parties in Turkey are also being examined. In the new bylaws, changes such as determining parliamentary candidates through primary elections, introducing term limits for members of parliament, and increasing the number of PM members, which is currently 60, are expected.

Meanwhile, the "Local Government Regional Meetings," the first of which was held in Şanlıurfa on September 30 to cover the Southeastern provinces, are continuing.

This weekend, at the Marmara Regional meeting, the party organization will come together with mayors to discuss local election strategies.
