AKP's Usta's 'piece of cloth' remarks infuriate CHP's Başarır

Tensions rose once again at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) General Assembly.
Republican People's Party (CHP) Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır reacted sharply to Justice and Development Party (AKP) Group Deputy Chairman Leyla Şahin Usta, who claimed that the CHP group would call the Turkish flag a piece of cloth, stating, "Even as a comparison, you cannot call the Turkish flag a 'piece of cloth'! You will know your place!"
AKP Group Deputy Chairman Leyla Şahin Usta stated that a text had emerged through the will of the TBMM and that it could not be called a piece of paper.
Furthermore, Usta pointed to the flags and claimed that the CHP group would also call the Turkish flag a piece of cloth.
CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır, stating that the Turkish flag could not be called a piece of cloth, demanded an apology from Usta. Başarır used the following expressions:
"Even as a comparison, you cannot call the Turkish flag a 'piece of cloth'! You will know your place, AKP Group Deputy Chairman!"
