Democrat Party deputy Cemal Enginyurt, who resigned from the party, reacted during a live broadcast on Sözcü TV to MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's remarks directed at journalists: "I am announcing that we are taking notes one by one, and when the time comes, we will make them pay for it dearly."
Stating that the words of the government and Devlet Bahçeli disturb people, Enginyurt said, "You are speaking as the second partner of the government in Turkey, you are making such assertive statements, and people do not like it."
Stating that people are being threatened simply for speaking, Cemal Enginyurt expressed that he knows the threatened journalists, that they all have families and children, and that they are Atatürkist people who love their country and nation, and continued his words as follows:
"Now, if someone who takes this statement as their duty comes out and carries out an attack.
God forbid, if they do something while someone is walking alone.
Who can pay the price for this, and how?
The country could face a civil war.
This country would pay a very heavy price.
But Mr. Bahçeli is constantly threatening, threatening, threatening.
