Prof. Dr. İpek Özkal, who served as a spokesperson for the Homeland Party (Memleket Partisi)—which closed following Muharrem İnce's return to the CHP—made notable remarks during a live broadcast.
While reactions continue toward Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who has maintained his silence ahead of the CHP's September 15 party congress lawsuit, Özkal came to Kılıçdaroğlu's defense.
Speaking on Tv100, Özkal claimed that Kılıçdaroğlu was the figure who provided real opposition and stated the following:
"Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu did not stay silent; he was silenced. He was subjected to such severe lynching and attacks... In fact, it was Kılıçdaroğlu who was doing the real opposition.”
