Statement on Ahmet Özer from CHP's Seyit Torun: 'The rise in CHP's poll numbers has disturbed the AKP and Erdoğan'

Speaking to 12punto at the CHP's TBMM Group Work and Evaluation Meeting, CHP deputies reacted sharply to the trustee decision.

CHP Ordu MP Seyit Torun stated that the decision was a planned operation against the CHP, noting that the entire process was irregular from start to finish.

'IT IS AN OPERATION CONDUCTED AGAINST THE CHP'

CHP's Torun said the following:

"We are facing FETÖ tactics that we are accustomed to from the past. Our Esenyurt Mayor, Ahmet Özer, was arrested unlawfully and unjustly. This is entirely an operation conducted against the CHP. The rising trend, the fact that our poll numbers are constantly increasing in the public eye, must have disturbed the AKP and Erdoğan, as we are once again facing a setup.

We have experienced this in the past as well, but let them know that we will never, ever bow down to such setups. Furthermore, the fact that a district governor was hastily appointed as a deputy governor and then as the acting mayor is a sign of how much preparation went into this.

Erdoğan had already touched upon this issue in his group speech. This means it is a prepared and planned organization.
