Muharrem İnce, from the CHP, made evaluations regarding both the government and the opposition in a statement on his social media account.
İnce argued that the problems experienced in many areas in Turkey, from justice to education, economy to agriculture, and health to environmental and animal rights, show that the government is unable to manage the country.
Stating that society is experiencing a serious loss of welfare, İnce expressed that people's hopes for the future have been damaged. According to İnce, it is not possible for the political understanding that created this picture to survive in the long term.
Issuing warnings to the opposition as well, İnce emphasized that the opposition, to which a significant portion of the public has pinned its hopes, should not fall into the complacency of "we are winning anyway." İnce stated that ignoring the principle of institutional quality and merit in politics weakens the hope for change.
A NOD TO STRONG AND INSTITUTIONAL POLITICS
In his statement, İnce used the following expressions: "Instead of cadres who are responsible, ethical, meritocratic, and aim to serve society; the preference for names who stand out with cronyism and prioritize ambition for positions and material gain weakens the hope for change."
Stating that society now sees not only the mistakes of the government but also the shortcomings of the opposition, İnce noted that Turkey does not need politics conducted through individuals, but rather a strong institutional political understanding based on merit, morality, and accountability.
