Was the decision for Bahçeli's October 22 speech made on October 3? What was discussed during that visit? A "State Project"?

Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi pointed to the visit by President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli before the National Security Council (MGK) meeting on October 3, regarding the call made by MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli yesterday at the Parliament podium for PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi commented on the call made by MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli yesterday at his party's group meeting regarding Öcalan.

WHAT WAS DISCUSSED ON OCTOBER 3?

In his article, where he used the phrase "In this respect, October 22 became a turning point," Selvi pointed to the Erdoğan-Bahçeli summit on October 3.

Selvi noted the following:

"Today, I will proceed somewhat by dates. Because there is a strategy being built step by step.

On October 3, President Erdoğan visited Bahçeli at his home. This date was important. Because after the Erdoğan-Bahçeli meeting, a National Security Council (MGK) meeting of historical importance was held. Why was the MGK important? Both in terms of the approaching danger of war and regarding the 'satellite structure' in Syria, which President Erdoğan drew attention to in his opening speech to Parliament, the decisions taken at the October 3 MGK were important. We will see what these are through implementations in the field when the need arises.

INTERNAL FRONT

It is very clear that what Erdoğan calls a satellite structure is the SDG-PKK and YPG in Syria. The US attempted to hold so-called elections in May and June to grant the PKK-YPG an autonomous status, but they were forced to take a step back as a result of Turkey's pressure. However, they have not abandoned these goals. A PKK satellite structure on Syrian territory is a survival issue for Turkey. Turkey is prepared to do whatever is necessary to prevent this. However, our internal front also needs to be strengthened during this difficult process.

'MOVES ARE AIMED AT THIS'

President Erdoğan also pointed to this point in his speech yesterday.

He said, 'While maps are being drawn with blood in the Middle East and Israel is carrying the war to Lebanon, we need to strengthen our internal front.'

I think the moves by Erdoğan and Bahçeli are somewhat aimed at this.

A STATE PROJECT?

In his article, Selvi also stated that this is a "state project" and noted the following:

"Our most important advantage here is that this is not just a project of Devlet Bahçeli, but a state project. President Erdoğan's strong support. The Kurdish people's belief in peace and the fact that the CHP and DEM Party are acting with a sense of responsibility.

While borders are being drawn with blood in the Middle East, we want to strengthen our own internal front by singing songs of peace.

The event is that important."
