Wave of resignations in İYİ Party in Adana

Following the election of Batur Eroğlu as chair at the 4th Ordinary Provincial Congress of the İYİ Party Adana Provincial Presidency held on November 30, some district chairs protested the new management. Ceyhan District Chair Ahmet Akar, Yumurtalık District Chair Saltuk Buğra Tülü, Feke District Chair Mustafa Avcı, Tufanbeyli District Chair Fevzi Çapanoğlu, and Karaisalı District Chair Babacan Öveç announced that they have resigned along with their board members.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Çukurova Journalists Association, Ceyhan District Chair Ahmet Akar stated that the interventions during the election process violated the principle of intra-party impartiality.

Akar said, "This statement has become necessary because what happened during the İYİ Party Adana Provincial Presidency elections points to serious problems that do not align with our party's democratic values and political ethics. The direct involvement of a member of parliament, who should have remained neutral, in the election process cast a shadow over the will of the organization and disrupted the fair course of the elections. This intervention did not just affect the result; it created clear pressure on organization members and severely violated the principle of intra-party impartiality."

Akar emphasized that they were only resigning from their management positions, but were not giving up their party membership or delegate rights. "Within the framework of the inviolability of our membership and delegate rights, I specifically emphasize that we are not giving up these rights at all. I am a member of my party, I am a delegate, and I will continue to remain so. The only position we are resigning from is our management duty, along with my district board members," he stated.
