What does the public say about the opposition's early election demand?

While both external developments and the activity in domestic politics continue to maintain their place on the agenda in Turkey, a new study measuring the pulse of public opinion has drawn attention. The fact that the government led by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan closed the door to Özgür Özel's call for a by-election has also reopened the discussion on the voters' approach.

The issue of a by-election has become one of the most important topics in politics recently. While Özgür Özel, who argues that a by-election is a constitutional necessity for the vacant seats in Parliament, continues his contacts with opposition parties, no positive approach regarding an early election or a by-election has come from the People's Alliance front.

THOSE WHO SAY "AKP WILL NOT APPROVE" ARE IN THE MAJORITY

In the survey conducted by Piar Research, it was observed that the majority of respondents believe that if members of parliament were to resign for a by-election, this process would not be approved by the Justice and Development Party in Parliament.

EARLY ELECTION DEMAND STANDS OUT

According to the research results, a large portion of citizens expressed the opinion that an early election should be held. It was noted that the demand for an early election was high in the survey.

The responses given to the question asked to participants, "If there were a general election this Sunday, which party would you vote for?" were listed as follows:

CHP: 35.3%

AKP: 32.4%

MHP: 9.1%

DEM Party: 8.4%

İYİ Party: 5.2%

Victory Party: 3.8%

YRP: 2.6%

Other: 3.2%

CHP IS IN FIRST PLACE IN VOTING POTENTIAL

In the research, voters were also asked which parties they could and could not vote for. According to these results, the party with the highest voting potential was the CHP with 50.4 percent, while the AKP's voting potential was measured at 44.6 percent.
