Sözcü columnist İsmail Saymaz evaluated the role of former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu during the March 31 local election process.

Referring to Kılıçdaroğlu's post stating, "The seeds sown have become saplings, and the saplings will become plane trees," Saymaz noted the following in his column:

"In the tweet he posted after the election, Kılıçdaroğlu said, 'The seeds sown have become saplings, and the saplings will become plane trees.' Even if it is true that he sowed seeds... The saplings he planted are growing despite Kılıçdaroğlu. The CHP began to overcome its ill-fated destiny by changing Kılıçdaroğlu and renewing itself. It appeared before the voters with young and female candidates. By dissolving the Table of Six, it offered itself to the public and formed the alliance under the CHP umbrella. The experience of populist municipalism in Istanbul and Ankara shattered the conservative and nationalist voters' perception of the CHP. Voters seen as the base of right-wing parties punished the government by voting for and extending credit to the transformed CHP. Kılıçdaroğlu has also joined the ranks of the losers of March 31."
