Sözcü columnist Aytunç Erkin reported in his column today on what transpired during the IYI Party's General Administrative Board meeting, where the party discussed the regional cooperation proposal for the local elections put forward by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.

Stating that IYI Party leader Akşener remained silent and said, "I am not interfering. Do not use me as an example; it leads to misunderstandings later. You will make this decision," Erkin noted that the vote was held by secret ballot following a request that "there are friends who are hesitant. There are those who cannot express their true opinions."

"ABSOLUTELY OUR FINAL DECISION"

As a result of the meeting, 35 GİK members voted "no," and the CHP's proposal was rejected.

Erkin reported that when IYI Party Antalya MP Uğur Poyraz asked, "So, what will we do if the CHP comes back with a proposal in a month?" Akşener replied, "No! It is absolutely our final decision."
