Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş will file his application for the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidacy for the 2024 local elections on Saturday, December 2, 2023.

Yavaş will submit his candidacy application at the CHP Ankara Provincial Headquarters at 11:00.

ÖZEL HAD GIVEN HIS WORD

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had stated that they had not given their word to anyone other than the 3 metropolitan cities, indicating that the incumbent mayors in Ankara, Aydın, and Istanbul would be nominated again.

Mansur Yavaş was elected Mayor of the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality in the 2019 elections with 51 percent of the vote. The People's Alliance candidate, Mehmet Özhaseki, received 47 percent.
