The government, which initially decided to pay 5,000 TL only to non-working retirees, decided to pay the 5,000 TL bonus to working retirees as well following the backlash.

While millions of retirees are wondering when the bonus will be deposited into their accounts, it has been learned that the legislative proposal in question will be enacted before the new year.

According to AKP sources, the General Assembly will not pause its work after the deliberations on the 2024 Central Government Budget Law Proposal and the 2022 Final Account Law Proposal.

In the General Assembly, where the budget marathon will be completed on December 25, deliberations will continue on the Draft Law on Amendments to Certain Laws and Decree-Laws, which includes regulations regarding the economy. The General Assembly will address the remaining articles of the 86-article proposal, 43 articles of which were accepted before the budget negotiations.

The proposal also includes the regulation for the payment of 5,000 lira to working retirees.

It is expected that the proposal will be enacted in the TBMM General Assembly before the new year and that the regulation regarding the payment of 5,000 lira to working retirees will be implemented.

The General Assembly is planned to pause its work after this proposal is enacted.
